Story Starter: 11

The task: to come up with three loglines (very short story descriptions) based on the image. The point: to stay creative and hone my ability as a screenwriter to write loglines.

All images can be found on my Story Starter Pinterest board (with the link to the artist’s page). And if you’d like to produce any of the loglines you see in my Story Starter Series, feel free to contact me!

  1. A buffalo spirit stuck in a strange world thinks he’s met a boy who can help him back, but finds things may not be what they seem when a band of similarly stranded spirits rise up against the boy.
  2. A precocious Native American refuses to participate in a rite of passage ceremony and wakes up in the woods hunted by a wood spirit until his spirit animal shows up to stand with the boy and guide him into manhood.
  3. In a place where gods and spirits roam, a buffalo and his boy navigate the wilds to seek favor for their world from the High God even as they battle the very spirits that are trying to destroy it.

Rate each logline!

Award stars based on your interest in the loglines! Do they have characters, themes, and imagery that intrigue you? Would you watch that movie? Give it 5 stars for something you're super excited about all the way to 1 star for something you stopped reading because you were so disinterested in it.

Pick your favorite!

If you could only pick one logline, one movie to go see, which one would it be?
